Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 30, 2026
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. We do not sell your personal information or your case data. Case information is visible only to the attorneys and staff authorized on that matter, and our AI provider does not use your data to train its models.
This Privacy Policy explains how Regula LLC (“Regula,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website and portal (collectively, the “Services”).
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account & contact information. Name, email address, phone number, firm or business name, and login credentials.
- Case and document information. Documents, case facts, and files you upload for us to process, draft, or return to you.
- Payment information. Billing details processed by our payment processor, Stripe. Regula does not directly store full payment card numbers; Stripe handles payment data in accordance with its own privacy policy and PCI-DSS obligations.
- Privacy-focused usage analytics. Aggregated pageview and event data (such as which pages are visited and which features are used) collected through privacy-focused analytics tools, used solely to understand and improve the Services.
2. No Advertising or Tracking Cookies
We do not use third-party advertising cookies, behavioral tracking pixels, or cross-site tracking technology, and we do not sell or share your personal information for advertising purposes. The analytics we use are privacy-focused and are limited to aggregate pageview and event metrics; they are not used to build advertising profiles or to track you across other websites.
3. How We Use Information
- To create and administer your account and process your requests.
- To perform the paralegal, drafting, or document preparation work you request.
- To process payments and manage billing through Stripe.
- To communicate with you about your account, requests, and support inquiries.
- To monitor, maintain, and improve the security and performance of the Services.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
4. AI-Assisted Drafting & Research
The Services use artificial intelligence, including third-party AI model providers, to draft documents, summarize case files, and assist with legal research. Case facts and documents you submit are sent to our AI provider(s) only to generate the specific output you requested.
- We do not sell case data to anyone, including AI providers, data brokers, or advertisers.
- Our AI provider(s) do not use your submitted case data to train their models — data sent for processing is used solely to generate your output and is not retained by the provider for model improvement.
- Case information is visible only to your firm’s attorneys and the Regula LLC personnel supporting that matter — never to other customers, and never used to build profiles across unrelated cases.
- Every AI-generated output remains subject to review and verification by the supervising attorney before it is relied upon or filed.
5. Secure Handling of Uploaded Files & PII
REGULA is hosted on enterprise-grade, SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certified cloud infrastructure. Access to client files and case data is restricted to the personnel and attorneys directly working on a matter, on a least-privilege basis. We retain uploaded documents and case data only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, satisfy legal or professional-responsibility recordkeeping obligations, and resolve disputes, after which they are securely deleted or anonymized.
6. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information or your case data. We share information only with:
- Service providers who process data on our behalf (e.g., cloud hosting, Stripe for payments, e-signature and e-filing infrastructure, and our AI model provider(s) for drafting and research), bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations, and prohibited from using your data to train their models.
- The supervising attorney associated with your matter, where the Services are performed under attorney direction.
- Authorities, where required to comply with a legal obligation, court order, or valid legal process.
7. Your Choices & Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, subject to our recordkeeping obligations, by contacting us at the email below. Depending on your state of residence, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy law.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
