Terms of Service

Last updated: August 30, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the website, portal, and services (collectively, the “Services”) provided by Regula LLC (“Regula,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please also review our AI & UPL Disclaimer, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

1. Nature of Services

Regula is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice or representation. The Services consist of AI-powered software — document drafting, case management, docket tracking, and related tools — used directly by licensed attorneys and their firms, as described in our Disclaimer. Regula has no paralegal or drafting staff performing legal work on your behalf; all drafting is generated by artificial intelligence at your direction. You remain solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and approving any AI-generated work product before relying on it, signing it, or filing it with any court or agency.

2. Subscription Terms & Scope of Use

Subscription plans are billed monthly in advance and renew automatically until cancelled in accordance with our Refund & Cancellation Policy. Each plan includes a defined limit on new cases added each month (cases already open when you join may be added at no charge) and, where applicable, a monthly allotment of AI Document Credits for AI-assisted drafting and evidence review, as described on our pricing page at the time of purchase. Use in excess of a plan’s monthly new-case limit or AI Document Credit allotment may be billed separately, throttled, or deferred to the following billing cycle at our discretion.

Availability, not a service-level guarantee. AI-generated drafts typically generate in minutes. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the platform or any AI provider it relies on, and generation times, accuracy, and availability may be affected by incomplete case data, third-party AI or docket-source outages, or events outside our control as described in Section 7 (Force Majeure).

3. AI-Generated Content

Documents, summaries, produced by Regula Draft Assist are generated by artificial intelligence You are solely responsible for independently verifying every AI-generated draft —

4. Non-Refundability of Consumed Credits

AI Document Credits and other per-use plan allotments are consumed when a draft is generated and are non-refundable once used, regardless of whether the resulting draft is ultimately relied upon or filed. Monthly subscription fees are non-refundable for any partial billing period. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy for full details.

5. Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all facts, documents, and instructions you submit to the platform, for independently reviewing and verifying all AI-generated work product before use, for safeguarding your account credentials, and for exercising the independent professional judgment required of a licensed attorney under the rules of professional conduct in your jurisdiction, including the duties of competence and confidentiality.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will Regula, its officers, employees, or contractors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits or lost business opportunities, arising out of or related to the Services. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will not exceed the total fees actually paid by you to Regula in the six (6) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

7. Force Majeure

We will not be liable for any delay, interruption, or failure to perform the Services caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, fire, flood, war, terrorism, civil unrest, labor disputes, governmental action, internet or telecommunications failures, or outages or failures of third-party infrastructure providers (including hosting, payment processing, e-signature, or e-filing platforms we rely on to deliver the Services).

8. Mandatory Binding Arbitration & Class Action Waiver

Agreement to arbitrate. Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services that cannot be resolved informally will be resolved exclusively by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”) under its Commercial Arbitration Rules, rather than in court. The arbitration will be conducted by a single arbitrator and will take place at a mutually agreed location, or remotely by agreement of the parties. Judgment on the arbitration award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.

Class action waiver. You and Regula agree that any arbitration or proceeding will be conducted only on an individual basis and not as a class, collective, or representative action. Neither party may bring a claim as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, or representative proceeding.

Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking relief in small claims court for disputes within that court’s jurisdiction, or from seeking injunctive relief for misuse of intellectual property.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Regula is organized, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles, except to the extent governed by the Federal Arbitration Act with respect to Section 8.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
